Authorized by the Family Violence and Prevention Services Act (FVPSA), CDC has funded the Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancements and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA) Program since 2002. The DELTA program funds State Domestic Violence Coalitions (SDVCs) to implement statewide IPV prevention efforts, while also providing assistance and funding for local communities to implement IPV prevention activities. Different iterations of DELTA have focused funding on increasing organizational capacity, implementation and evaluation of IPV primary prevention activities.The purpose of this NOFO is to bring about decreases in IPV risk factors and increases in IPV protective factors by increasing strategic data-driven planning and sustainable use of community and societal level primary prevention activities that address the social determinants of health (SDOH) and are based on the best available evidence. In addition, the NOFO will help to further develop the evidence-base for community and societal-level programs and policy efforts to prevent IPV by increasing the use of evaluation and existing surveillance data at the state and local level. The Integrated Care for Kids (InCK) Model provides funding opportunities to states and local organizations to test whether payment supporting integrated service delivery across behavioral health, physical health, and other child services reduces Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) expenditures and improves the quality of care for covered children. The InCK Model will assist states and local communities in addressing priority health concerns for children, such as behavioral health challenges, including opioid and other substance use, and the effects of opioid use on families. CMS will support Awardees in developing state-specific pediatric alternative payment models (APMs) that incorporate provider accountability and focus on meaningful improvements in care quality and health outcomes. Successful Awardees will use model funding to support infrastructure investments and activities necessary to support model planning and operations including (but not limited to): state and local investments in information technology, strategic planning and analysis for model design, model operations and staffing, and federal evaluation activities.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Mental Health Services is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2013 National Resource Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention (YVP-RC) cooperative agreement. The purpose of this jointly funded program is to serve as a national resource and training center to increase the effectiveness of youth violence prevention, prevention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, and promotion of the healthy development of children and youth. The YVP-RC will also provide technical assistance for SAMHSA's Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) and Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children's Health (Project LAUNCH) grant programs. Funding for this announcement is from the Youth Violence Prevention program in the amount of $4.599 million (74 percent) and $1.572 million (26 percent) from Project LAUNCH. It is SAMHSA's intent that the YVP-RC provide states/tribes, organizations, and communities with the resources they need to eliminate or reduce the impact of risk factors and promote positive and protective factors for children, youth, young adults, and their families. This program will advance the dissemination and use of prevention research to inform development and implementation of policies and programs across state and tribal agencies. Planning and implementation of statewide prevention programming and policies will be accomplished through the use of a public health approach. The YVP-RC also seeks to address health disparities among racial and ethnic minorities by ensuring that YVP-RC recipients are encouraged to develop and implement strategies to decrease differences in prevalence, access, service use, and outcomes among racial and ethnic minority children, youth, young adults, and families served.

PEPFAR South Sudan collaborates closely with the Republic of South Sudan (RSS) Ministry of Health (MOH) and other key partners to implement the HIV/AIDS National Strategic Plan (NSP) and has developed a five year PEPFAR strategy for the RSS. By targeting geographic areas with high HIV prevalence, PEPFAR will assist the RSS to reach the HIV programmatic goal/tipping point of 16,000 net new HIV patients on treatment and an annual reduction of new HIV infections to below 13,000 by 2017. A primary objective to reach this goal requires improved availability and quality of HIV services for families and other high-impact populations using a public health approach. Under this funding opportunity announcement (FOA), PEPFAR South Sudan prioritizes working in collaboration with the MOH to implement the following approaches: 1) expand HIV testing and counseling (HTC) through high-yield testing approaches, 2) improve access to ART services for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, their partners, and children, 3) strengthen pediatric HIV testing, care and treatment within a family centered approach, and 4) advance the development of a sustainable infrastructure for South Sudan's workforce. This FOA solicits a combination of capacity building and mentorship for the RSS MOH at the national, state and local levels as well as through direct service delivery to complement the MOH, Global Fund and other partner efforts to scale-up HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in South Sudan.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support research to develop and pilot test strategies to assist transition-age youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families or caretakers in planning for and smoothly transitioning into adult functioning and adult services.The ultimate goal is to develop models for transition to adult supports and services that effectively prevent lapses in services and supports; enhance functioning in community settings such as educational, social, familial, and other settings; maintain or improve health, safety, and quality of life; and reduce or maintain reductions in ASD-related symptoms.

The foundation raises funds to support advancement of the AABC birth center model as the standard to improve maternity and women's health care. Based on a wellness model of pregnancy and birth, the birth center is a homelike facility operating within a healthcare system. Birth centers are guided by the principles of prevention of complication, sensitivity to the needs of the individual family, safety for both mother and baby, appropriate use of medical intervention, and cost-effective care. Birth centers provide family-centered care for healthy women before, during, and after normal pregnancy, labor, and birth. To help advance this mission, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 in support of research on issues related to the birth center model of care. The program is open to individuals or organizations, and nonprofit status or fiscal sponsorship is not required. However, applicants must be able to demonstrate capacity and a plan to complete the research in accordance with the project's timeline. 

CDC plans to fund one organization to raise awareness about the risks of prenatal alcohol exposure and improve understanding about individuals affected by fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) as well as to promote the prevention of FASDs and care of affected individuals. The work will focus on five major activities: (1) maintaining a national resource directory, (2) developing and disseminating information and resources to various audiences, (3) building capacity for state and local affiliates dedicated to services for FASD prevention as well as identification, care, and support for individuals with FASDs and their families, (4) conducting media outreach and media training, and (5) supporting a speakers bureau for enhanced FASD awareness and prevention efforts. The short-term outcomes to be achieved by the end of the project period focus on increased access to local and state-based resources across the country; increased access to accurate information on FASD prevention as well as identification, support, and care for individuals with FASDs and their families; improved linkages between healthcare champions and local affiliates; and increased awareness of the risks of prenatal alcohol use through use of presenters with lived experience.

Policies for Action was created to help build the evidence base for policies that can help build a Culture of Health. The foundation is interested in learning how national, state, or local policies can promote lifelong health and health equity for individuals, families, and communities; as well as what enabling factors promote the adoption and spread of good policies. Grants of up to $250,000 will be awarded for projects that investigate public and private policies from a range of political ideologies and perspectives. By policies, the foundation means not just laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal level, but also private sector practices, such as those affecting workplaces, neighborhood and community development, and family stability. Both public and private sector policies and practices can significantly impact a person's health. These policies and practices might be related to: health care; public health; education and training; housing and community development; civil rights; transportation, and planning; labor and employment; taxes and spending.

In line with the GoSA She Conquers strategy/campaign, Implementation of targeted combination prevention solutions and approaches for (AGYW, young Men and adult women) vulnerable high risk priority populations in workplace, schools and community. Provide evidence based interventions including demand creation for uptake of HTS, PrEP, VMMC, condom promotion and distribution, risk reduction, delaying sexual debut for (9-14 year old), family planning, STI, education and linkages to care and treatment. Behavioral interventions include school based (in &out of school), social mobilization and gender norms change and GBV prevention and parenting programs.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announces the availability of funds for the 2018 Technical Assistance to the Survivors of Torture Program (TA SOT). The purpose of the TA SOT program is to ensure that survivors of torture have access to quality services by providing national technical assistance to centers of healing and other ORR-funded organizations serving survivors of torture. Technical assistance activities are focused on the dual objectives of building capacity and developing sustainability of these programs and organizations. Activities may include trainings, consultations, information sharing, maintaining online resources facilitating listservs, sharing evidence-based practices, conducting research, producing resources, facilitating organizational self-assessments, and promoting program evaluation and strategic planning.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to provide up to $40 million in total USAID funding over a period of five-years. The purpose of the activity is to increase utilization of FP services through universal health coverage. It will be accomplished through: 1) strengthening capacity to more effectively train medical providers and community health workers in FP in both the public and private sectors; and, 2) focusing and expanding public sector FP information and services to high need groups such as adolescents, youth, newlyweds, and postpartum girls and women.
